On-site pool therapy at Seattle Children's Hospital is often a critical component of therapy for many patients.  It is also frequently used by family members who are visiting or spending time with patients.

Seattle Children's Hospital is in need of new swim suits to provide to both patients and family members.

The First
The first recorded Olympic Games took place in Ancient Greece in 776 BC. The only event was a "stade," a foot race about 600 feet in length. This is where the word "stadium" originates. The athletes participated nude or "gymnos." This is where the word "gymnasium" originates.

The Countries
205 different nations will be competing in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Greece is the only nation to have participated under its own flag in every modern Summer Olympic Games.

DIY Olympic Medals

Salt Dough Recipe:
1 cup salt
1 cup flour
3/4 cup water

Combine the flour and salt and add water gradually. Knead it until it gets a dough-like consistency. If it's too sticky, add more flour. If it won't hold together, add more water 1 tsp at a time. 

Materials:
Acrylic Paints (gold, silver, and bronze)
Paint brush(s)

Stoplight Fruit Pops

One of the best things about summer is all the fresh, seasonal produce! These homemade frozen pops are full of sweet summer fruit and lots of great vitamins too. The combination of kiwis, peaches, and strawberries provides plenty of Vitamin A, C, and D, plus potassium, folate, and fiber!

Stoplight Fruit Pops:

  • 2 cups strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 2 cups sliced peaches
  • 6 medium kiwi, peeled and chopped
  • honey to taste, if desired

Purée strawberries in a blender. Add a squeeze of honey for extra sweetness, if desired. Divide ...
