2015 Season of Giving: Local Donation Drives

Local organizations need your help to make the holidays truly special for everyone!

Tis the season for giving thanks, as well as giving to those less fortunate in our area.  Please take a moment to see all the various ways you can give to our community and even turn this into a lesson on giving for your children.

Eastside Firefighters Fill the Truck
Eastside Firefighters and their families will be on site collecting food and clothes for the "Fill the Truck” food and clothing drive. All donations will support the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank and the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank.  Items collected include chili, soups, jelly, healthy snacks, canned veggies or fruit, cooking oil, toiletries, soap, cleaning products, new underwear (all sizes), diapers (sizes 4-6), baby wipe and lightly used blankets and coats.

Kiwanis Coat Drive
Our coat and shoe drive will run the month of November and benefits the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank New or Gently used, clean items only please.

Clothes for Cause - IGNITE Dance & Yoga
Donate new or gently used household textiles only. All clothes new and gently used, shoes (paired only), towels, gloves, hats, sheets, blankets, quilts, bedspreads, drapes, purses, and belts, stuffed animals.  Click here for more information.

Winter Coat Drive - Snoqualmie Valley Girl Scouts
Your donation of a new or gently worn coat will benefit a family in the Snoqualmie Valley.

WHERE: Drop off at various Valley locations, including: Chase Bank, Bank of America, Key Bank, Mt Si Gymnastics, Opus Bank, Sno-Valley Credit Union, Umpqua Bank, Mt Si Sports & Fitness and Si View Community Center

Eastside Baby Corner Benefit Concert with Recess Monkey
Bring an unwrapped toy or children’s book for local children in need to help Eastside Baby Corner. Come dance, sing-a-long and JUMP to the music!

Mount Si ASB students "Fill the Truck" Event
Help Mount Si ASB students "Fill the Truck" with food donations.  Donations will benefit local food banks and families.

Caring through Sharing - Holiday Gift Program 
The Caring through Sharing Program is a holiday gift program for Issaquah School District children ages birth-18.  This year Pickering Barn will become a department store for clients to do their holiday shopping. Help fill the store with donations - click here to see gift ideas! 
WHEN: Donation drop-off and set-up is Monday and Tuesday, December 7 and 8 from 1pm-7 pm.
WHERE: at the Pickering Barn (1730 10th Ave. NW, Issaquah, WA 98027). There is no storage at the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank; please bring gifts to the Pickering Barn on the drop off days only.

Sammamish Police and Toys 4 Tots
As part of the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program contribute a new toy {or two or three} for a needy child.  Drop off a new, unwrapped gift (or two or three). 
WHEN: Donations will be accepted now until December 10. 
WHERE: Sammamish Police Department at City Hall, 801 228th Avenue SE.

Helping Give Back, Sammamish
A local mom is organizing a holiday gift drive for the Snoqualmie Valley Winter Shelter, a program of the Valley Renewal Center again this year.  Last year, she was able to fulfill 30+ individuals at the Snoqualmie Valley Winter Shelter and over 4 families, including over 10 children at Mama's Hands, House of Hope in North Bend.  The drive is organized via a Facebook page found here: www.facebook.com/Helping-Give-Back-Sammamish

Eastside Baby Corner - Sammamish Kiwanis Club and Eastlake & Skyline High School Key Clubs
Raising money for Eastside Baby Corner. Shoppers will be entertained with festive holiday songs. Stop by and make a contribution. It goes to a great cause.

Toy ‘N’ Joy
Drop off new, unwrapped toys appropriate for children up to 14 years old at your neighborhood Bartells. All toys collected will be distributed the week before Christmas through Salvation Army’s toy warehouses.

Sleep Country Toy Drive for Foster Kids
To help make the season a little brighter, Sleep Country is collecting holiday gifts for local foster kids of all ages. Bring your donation of a new, unwrapped toy, game, book or movie to any Sleep Country location, and become a Secret Santa for a foster child today!  CLICK HERE for more details.
WHEN: Now through Dec. 14th new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off for children of all ages at any Sleep Country during regular business hours.
WHERE: The Issaquah store is located at 730 NW Gilman Blvd.

Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis Club's Giving Tree
You'll find trees at local businesses in Fall City, Snoqualmie, and North Bend.  Take a tag or two and return new, donated unwrapped gifts to be given to families in need via One VOICE (Valley Organizations in Collective Effort).
WHEN: now through December 15, 2015
WHERE: Trees are located in all the libraries, QFC, Safeway, YMCA, Farmer's offices, Snoqualmie Eye Care, Chamber of Commerce, NB visitor center, Chaplins, Umpqua, Credit Union, Snoqualmie Police and Fire and some private businesses. There are probably over 30 trees in the valley, so keep your eye out.

Seattle Children's Hospital Drive - Project Grace Guild
The Project Grace Guild is a group of 18 mothers who are all from the Snoqualmie Valley and Issaquah/Sammamish areas. This holiday season, families at Seattle Children's Hospital's Ronald McDonald Houses need non-perishable food items, towels, toiletries, kitchen items and more.  Help make their holidays a little brighter with goods and unwrapped toys for all ages!

Holiday Food Drive at City Hall
Support your local food banks this holiday season by donating non-perishable items such as canned tuna, soups, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruits and veggies, fruit juices, beans, rice, pasta, and personal care items (toothpaste, lotion, deodorant).  Call 425.888.5337, ext. 1143.

Hope on the Hill Guild Holiday Giving Drive
Hope on the Hill is hosting their 7th Annual Holiday Giving Drive benefiting Seattle Children's Hospital Autism Center and collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys, books and therapy items through the holiday season. Preferred items are listed on the 2015 Holiday Giving Drive Amazon Wish List.
