Exchange Students arrive from Peru and Korea to the Snoqualmie Valley

We are lucky to have a healthy exchange program between the Snoqualmie Sister Cities Association and a couple of communities in Peru and Korea. They send their students for about three weeks, to experience culture and friendship in the Snoqualmie Valley and Seattle area, and spend a bit of time in schools within our school district.

The students from Peru arrived a couple weeks ago, and were greeted with a ceremony at the city hall. They presented gifts to Mayor Larson and city council members. Students from Peru as well as Korea dressed in their traditional clothing last night for the event at city hall, and performed a dances traditional to their respective country, and dance steps. The event was packed with people from the community.

If you have students in the Snoqualmie School District, students from Peru will be visiting the high-school during their homestay with families, as well as attending a Spanish class offered at Fall City Elementary, to understand better how schools in our area operate! We are proud to welcome them to the valley!

Hosting an exchange student is a great cultural opportunity for families and can help to generate enthusiasm for our own children to travel and study abroad. The Snoqualmie Sister Cities Association will take students to Peru again, this April. They also host adult trips, there is one coming up in July. Lux Language Partners is proud to be involved with the Snoqualmie Sister City Association, and welcomes our visiting students to Snoqualmie and the Seattle area!
