Get Your Purge On - Local Places to Donate

March 29, 2018
It's time to Spring Clean, and in all likelihood your family has accumulated more stuff over the winter.  The best way to remedy that situation is to purge.  Go through closets and dressers.  Doesn't fit?  Don't love it?  You know how this works.  Get your kids involved and ask them to pass along toys they are finished playing with. Won't be long and you'll have boxes of stuff and maybe start feeling a bit overwhelmed!  To make the next step a little easier, we've compiled a list of local options to donate, consign, or sell.

PLACES TO DONATE
Clothes For The Cause collects clothing and shoes and turns them into cash for your school, team or church group.  It's a fundraising effort that not only takes unwanted textiles that are out of fashion, not needed, or no longer fit but also supports local organizations.  Clothes For The Cause pays the group per pound for all the clothes and shoes collected. The more you collect, the more you get paid.  You can always find local drop off locations on their Facebook page.

What to Donate: Clothing new and gently used, SHOES paired only; Towels, Stuffed Animals, Hats, Sheets, Blankets, Quilts, Bedspreads, Drapes, Purses, Belts.  All items must be dry and clean.  Cannot accept glass, breakables, electronics, pet beds, bed pillows, carpeting, uniforms, mattresses or hotel linens.
