Family-friendly Local Happenings from Macaroni Kid

Issaquah, Sammamish, Snoqualmie, North Bend and Fall City

March 1, 2012

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild,
to pick up a book and read to a child."

Tomorrow - March 2nd - is National Read Across America Day.  It also happens to be Dr. Seuss' birthday ... no accident or mere coincidence here.

This is a day designated to celebrate reading and the impact Dr. Seuss and his stories have had on generations of young readers.

This is also a great opportunity to read a book (or a dozen) with your kids.  And why not make it a Dr. Seuss book?  I am certain there's at least one (or a dozen) living on a shelf in your house right now!

Macaroni Kid also encourages you to attend one of several local events set to celebrate the day.  In fact, we would love to see you at Swedish/Issaquah on Friday morning.  From 9:00 am to 10:30 am, you'll find breakfast being served in Café 1910 as well as crafts sponsored by Macaroni Kid and Stroller Strides.  At 10:30 am gather around the fireplace in the lobby to listen to a reading of a featured Dr. Seuss story and other books.

You could also turn to the great-and-powerful internet ...
We suggest the official Seussville website and our Pinterest Board created just for the occasion.

Before you snuggle up to read a book or head out the door to get your Seuss-on, check out the articles we have for you:
