Local moms are singing the praises of Fit Mama, a results-based workout program that is for moms only. 

What is Fit Mama?
Inspired by the Body Back program, Fit Mama offers high intensity, interval workouts along with before and after fitness assessments, nutrition tips, coaching and support in a motivating and inspirational setting. The next session starts on Monday, January 13th, from 5:45-6:45 am and will run for eight consecutive weeks until Wednesday, March 5th.  {Plus you can mention MacKid for a discount on the session price.}

What is the format?
The Fit Mama program is a 2-month session that includes fitness assessments, food journal and diary, individualized goal setting, weekly weigh-ins, online support and two high-intensity, interval-based, total body workouts per week.  

The nutritional component includes online recipes via Google docs, Facebook, and also Pinterest.  Program includes a set of red resistance bands, two small group training sessions per week plus an online fitness challenge on Fridays and a Running Club on Saturdays at 7:00 am.

Will I stay motivated?
Each workout is different, and you'll have a group of like-minded mamas to encourage you.  Past participants always mention the variety of workouts - from partner exercises to themed activities,  each session is something new!  You won't have the chance to get bored; plus, you'll get a good mix of cardio and strength training.  Fit Mama allows you to get fit while having fun.

Can I bring my kids?
No. This is your hour. This is your time to recharge! 

Do I need to be in shape? I’m not a runner.
You do not need to be in shape to do Fit Mama. We will build you up from your personal starting point. You don't have to be a runner! However, you do need to be free from injuries or ailments, which would prevent you from training at a high intensity. We also ask that moms wait until at least 4 months post-partum to begin Fit Mama.

What kind of results can I expect?
If you commit 100% to the workout and nutritional plan, you can expect amazing results. Not only will you see pounds and inches melt away, but you will also see dramatic increases in strength, posture and endurance!



Krista's biggest takeaway from her first Fit Mama session is that even at 38 and after two kids, change is possible. "This realization was huge for me. For the first time in a long time, I feel encouraged to eat better, exercise smarter and be as healthy as I can be. I have more energy and confidence than I have had in years. It feels great!"

Krista's fitness goal for the future is to complete a 5K with her 8-year-old son before the end of the year. Her long-term goal is to maintain a healthy weight and fitness level to keep up with her busy life! With Krista's can do attitude, nothing will stop her from achieving her goals.
