Skagit Valley Tulip Festival Activities for Kids

How to enjoy the Tulip Festival with your family.

By Leia Davis, marysville.macaronikid.com March 26, 2015
It's that time of year again, Tulip Festival time and it's coming early!!  The Tulip Festival technically starts on April 1st, but Roozengarde already has a field in bloom so go now or go early so you don't miss out on the blooms.

WHAT TO KNOW
The festival is designed as a driving tour and events are miles apart.  You won't be able to park once and hit a bunch of destinations.  Although you may be happy with just hitting up Roozengarde or Tulip Town.

The fields aren't for picking or even walking through, just for viewing and taking pictures.  Although there are usually booths with tulips for sale at each field and definitely at the major gardens where you can walk through their display gardens.

WHAT TO BRING
  • Think a warm pumpkin patch, wear something with good traction that
  • Dress in warm layers and bring your rain boots and an extra set of clothes.  The fields can be wet and slippery.
  • Pack a lunch/snack and drinks.
  • Bring your camera!
  • Bring cash for parking, treats and some flowers!
  • BEWARE: Strollers will be tough here - bring a carrier for your babe.
