This past weekend, my husband and I stayed at the Chrysalis Inn and Spa in Bellingham, Washington. The Chrysalis is located in Fairhaven, just south of downtown, on Bellingham Bay.
I was a little worried that driving to Bellingham on a Friday afternoon might take forever, but we made it in less than two hours, and stepped into a beautiful hotel, ready for some relaxation! Our room was really nice, from the soaking tub, to the large window seat overlooking the Bay; it was a beautiful place to start our getaway.
Some of the highlights from our trip, besides the beautiful room, were dinner at Fino Wine Bar, and the Chrysalis Spa.
We enjoyed an amazing dinner at Fino Wine Bar. The restaurant is located inside the hotel, but it’s not your typical hotel dining experience. Fino is a wine bar, with an extensive wine list, and a fabulous dinner menu. This is a restaurant you would go to on any given weekend with a group of friends, or with that special someone. We shared steak and scallops, and an Italian salad that I will be craving for weeks!
The Chrysalis Spa is beautiful. They have a quiet area, which overlooks a small waterfall, and a eucalyptus steam room that is available to all hotel guests. I enjoyed one of the best pedicures I have ever had. If you go, ask for Jianni for your nail treatments.
The Fairhaven area of Bellingham is very fun! It reminded me a lot of Fremont, in Seattle. Quaint shops, one-of-a-kind restaurants, and charming streets to stroll around; and it's within walking distance of the hotel.
If you are looking for a relaxing getaway with your spouse, this is a great place to consider. The Chrysalis would also be a fun girl’s weekend option, especially with the spa, and the many services they offer!
