Children's Artwork Showcase at Swedish Hospital

Call for Submissions - Deadline April 11

March 24, 2011

My oldest daughter hasn't even officially started school yet, and already I've accumulated piles of her artwork.  All of which I consider masterpieces - making it rather difficult to part with any of them.

Imagine seeing your child's artwork turned into a long-lasting piece of art showcased in a local building where it can be seen and enjoyed by others.  That is exactly the opportunity being presented to young artists by the Swedish Medical Center.

Please read the full details below:

To meet the health-care needs of the fast growing community of Greater Issaquah/Sammamish, Swedish is building a new medical center in the Issaquah Highlands. The new campus is being developed in two stages. The first stage is the opening of a medical office building and outpatient center in July 2011. Stage two is the hospital, which opens in November 2011.

In an effort to be an engaged community partner and improve the healing environment of our new facility, we would like to feature digital images of artwork or photos by children or young adults who live on the Eastside (open to children and young adults ages 5 to 18). The digital images selected will be showcased in the new Swedish facility. Does your child have artwork you think should be submitted?

The artwork and images should promote healing, health and community. Any child or young adult between the ages of 5 to 18 is welcome to submit their artwork; submissions are due April 11 by 11:59 p.m. Artwork and images must be submitted electronically, so please visit www.swedish.org/issaquahart for complete terms and conditions, and for more information.
