Find Your Family Fun® this Fall with Macaroni Kid

  1. Story Time at the Local Libraries - Issaquah Library, Sammamish Library, Snoqualmie Library, North Bend Library, and Fall City Library all have great story time programs for ages 0-7 years old. Check out our event calendar and search for library under “find events by category”.
  2. Local Family Fun - take a peek at our local events calendar and pick something NEW for you and your kids to do!
  3. Go to Salmon Days October 6 & 7 - Voted Most Loved Festival / Family Event in the 2017 Macaroni Kid Gold Daisy Awards ... so you know you should go!
  4. Visit a pumpkin patch - and with Macaroni Kid's list of local pumpkin patches, you will be "in the know" and ready to plan a day of fun for your family!
  5. Fall Crafting at Michael’s Arts & Crafts – Kid’s Club at Michael’s has craft make and take days every Saturday that feature themed crafts for the season. Check out the Kid’s Club schedule here, under upcoming events.
  6. Take a Trip – Fall is one of the best times to take a trip! The kids are back in school which means crowds are low and prices are low; win, win!   7. Ride a Train – The Northwest Railway Museum train is running the Halloween and Santa Train in November and December (Tickets on Sale Now!)
  8. Visit a Local Playground - You know here at Macaroni Kid we love a great playground, especially one that's close to home, has unique features, and is fully accessible for all kids.  Here's a great list to pick from!
  9. Issaquah Goes Apples on October 20 - This community event celebrates the harvest season combining activities in the downtown district including a farm fresh produce pop-up market, walking tours, art experiences, seasonal photo opportunities and more.
  10. Attend Night on a Dark Trail - Night on a Dark Trail is happening in Snoqualmie on October 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27.
  11. Visit the Zoo – I love visiting the zoo in the fall. The days are cooler so the animals are more active, it is easier to walk around with the cooler weather, and there are less people visiting.  And we're lucky enough to have a zoo in our backyard: Cougar Mountain Zoo.
  12. Visit the Cedar River Watershed - The Cedar River Watershed Education Center is a regional education facility created as a gathering place to connect people with the source of their water.
  13. Stop by Your Local YMCA for Family Fun - Parent's Nights Out, Family Fun Nights, Lunch & Jump and Cultural Events, just to name a few things to do at the Sammamish YMCA and Snoqualmie Family YMCA.
  14. Create a Thankful Board – During the Thanksgiving season I love to take the opportunity to teach being grateful and thankful to my kids. We have done it many ways over the years. This is a great and easy way; Make A Family Thankful Board.
  15. Jump in Some Leaves – Rake up a big pile of leaves and just jump right in!
  16. Free State Park Days - Do a little planning, gas up the car, and go!  Free State Park Day is November 11.
  17. Collect Food – Collect food for the local food bank. It is that time of year when the food bank needs to start feeding families for Thanksgiving and Christmas and they need help providing the food. Clean out your pantry, ask your family, friends, neighbors, classmates, and see how much you can collect. 
  18. SHOP Local - Check out our Small Business Guide and remember to support all local businesses, especially on Small Business Saturday, November 24, 2018. 
  19. Bounce, Jump & Play! – Get some of that never ending kid energy out by taking your kids to open jump one of the great places on our Indoor Fun: Places to Bounce, Jump, Play guide . They will have a blast and you have the option of jumping with them or taking some time to relax. 
  20. Bake Something with Pumpkin Spice – Pumpkin spice bread, pumpkin spice cookies, pumpkin spiced pancakes, pumpkin spiced scones, pumpkin spiced cupcakes. The possibilities are endless now a days and it makes your house smell wonderful!
  21. Take a Hike - with so many hiking options around, you can't go wrong getting out and enjoying this time of year.  Here is the Macaroni Kid LOCAL KIDS HIKING Guide.
  22. Have a Campfire – In your backyard, at your campsite, at your friend’s house. Campfires are always a great time! Roast marshmallows, make some S’mores, roast hot dogs for dinner.
  23. Fall Crafts with Fall Leaves Fall leaf candle jar and a Fall tree sun catcher.
  24. Attend a Local High School Football Game - Support your local high school and have some fun while doing it!
  25. Road Trip to see the Changing Leaves – Just driving down 202 will give you an incredible view of fall’s beautiful colors, but why not be a bit more adventurous? Head up over the mountains, over I-90 or Hwy 2, or head north up I-5. So many possibilities.
  26. Go see a Movie - We have two awesome theaters in our area: Regal Cinemas Issaquah Highlands or North Bend Theater. 
  27. Get your Family Photos Taken –Stop putting it off.  Fall has some the best backgrounds and landscapes for outdoor family photos.
  28. Bake an Apple Pie – Find your favorite recipe, get into the kitchen with your kids, and have fun.
  29. Host a Family Game Night - What to do when the day-to-day running has you feeling like you are losing touch with your family? Call a family game night!
