Satin camis, animal prints and cozy sweaters are on-trend

November 14, 2019

Holiday parties will be here before you know it and Scout & Molly’s Issaquah can help you perfect your look. The boutique celebrates its first anniversary at Grand Ridge Plaza on Saturday, November 16 with gifts with purchase, discounts and goodies from the community's favorite fashion lines (Elan, Sanctuary and more) – plus a raffle for a $250 gift card. Drop by between 10 am and 4:30 pm for festivities, fun and fashions.

We caught up with Michelle Bowers, owner of Scout & Molly’s Issaquah, to discover what’s new, bright and sparkling for the holidays.

Grand Ridge Plaza: What’s the hottest trend for the 2019 holiday season?

Michelle Bowers: The hottest trend this season is ANIMAL PRINT! It’s everywhere. You can’t go wrong with it. Especially fresh and new this year is zebra print.

Grand Ridge Plaza: What’s your favorite item in the store for staying warm and cozy?

Michelle Bowers: Cozy faux fur jackets! We have a few different ones. They’re warm, snuggly, adorable. And no animals were harmed, of course.

We’re featuring jackets by Sanctuary, Bishop + Young, Fifteen-Twenty and Elan. My personal favorite is a grey and blue leopard print cropped jacket from Elan.

Grand Ridge Plaza: Name one must-have item everyone will want and love.

Michelle Bowers: Our best-selling RYU Sweater from Kerisma. It drapes beautifully and is universally flattering. It comes in lots of colors. Right now, we have blue, wine and brick red.

Grand Ridge Plaza: What’s one of your favorite looks for semi-formal holiday gatherings?

Michelle Bowers: Satin camis by Seattle-based designed Kelly Su (who also happens to live in Issaquah Highlands), paired with a black satin blazer, plus a black velvet button down, and a slinky bias-cut satin skirt by Bishop + Young. Love, love, love!

Grand Ridge Plaza: Are you treating yourself to anything special for the winter season?

Michelle Bowers: One thing I’m treating myself to is a Ryu sweater. (I can’t be the only one who doesn’t have one!). I’ve also got my eye on new grey denim from Blank NYC.

In addition to the latest fashions, Scout & Molly’s Issaquah also features a beautiful selection of keepsake jewelry. The boutique recently introduced Dogeared Jewelry. Made in the USA and designed in Southern California, every Dogeared jewelry piece celebrates self-expression and relationships. The cool, uncomplicated nature of each design reflects a modern, laid-back lifestyle. Dogeared jewelry makes perfect gifts for those you love.
