This month about 30 Macaroni Kid publishers were thrilled to be able to break free from home during the ongoing pandemic for a stay at the gorgeous and ever-accommodating Meliá Caribe Beach Resort, located in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
For me, after being home for around 18 months with my two teen boys and my niece who lives with me, I needed a break. I am not talking about sneaking off to the grocery pickup with no kids in tow. I am talking about a REAL break. Out. Of. Town. And also apparently out of the country.
While the pandemic was going into its 3rd (or 5th?) surge this July, I seriously contemplated if I should cancel the trip. But I knew my cup was empty and if you didn't realize before the pandemic you surely do by now that moms pour and pour and pour from our cups and rarely get the chance to truly "fill our own cups." This makes treasuring every day difficult when we are running on fumes. I call it an empty cup. I knew in my heart that to get through another godawful year of virtual learning or hybrid learning or whatever decisions are to be made by our officials, I just had to get away, with or without the kids.
And, oh my goodness, I am so grateful I did.

You can see miles of white sand beaches with turquoise-blue water which is simply stunning. I found myself taking way too many pictures to try to capture the pure beauty. Honestly, though, the pictures just don't do it justice. Ya gotta see it to believe it.

With several pools sprawling the property there truly is something for everyone in the family. Meliá Caribe Beach Punta Cana has everything from a family pool to an adults-only pool. Most of the pools have food and drink options so you don’t have to pack up to go feed the kids right in the middle of all of the fun.

The fun doesn't stop there! Part of vacationing at a resort is the ALL-INCLUSIVE MEALS! Meliá Caribe Beach has some awesome options for dining with 15 on-site restaurants ranging from beachside meals with spectacular views of the ocean & bars to buffets for breakfast, lunch, or dinner to fine dining.
One thing about Meliá Caribe Beach Punta Cana is they take COVID-19 seriously. For example, gloves are required to take part in the buffet, as well as masks indoors of course.
