Confluence Music Festival Brings Harmonious Magic to Issaquah

Grammy nominee, famed songwriters, and electric performers headline

 The Downtown Issaquah Association recaptures the magic of stellar musical performers in a lush park setting with its 6th Annual Confluence Music Festival August 25. The programming is a collaboration with the Washington Blues Society

This five-hour music and art festival, Sunday August 25, (2pm to 7pm) will feature local and internationally renowned musicians, bringing together a diverse audience at Confluence Park in beautiful downtown Issaquah. Kids and leashed dogs appreciated!

Locals and visitors from the Pacific Northwest will bring their families, picnic blankets and lawn chairs to celebrate the festival of the summer. Live Music, Food Trucks, Beer & Wine Garden for those 21+, Artisans, and a Plein Air Community Art Program round out the legendary musical talent. New for 2024: Original Theatre Black Dog – Shakespeare in the Park will perform at 3 and 5pm.

 

“Every year this time the buzz about Confluence builds with anticipation,” said Christina Bruning, President of the Downtown Issaquah Association. “The sounds of legendary performers in our lovely sprawling park attract both music aficionados and families seeking the pleasure of an entertaining Sunday afternoon.”

 

Musical Lineup


From 2 - 3pm Mercedes Nicole

 

The first time you hear Seattle vocalist Mercedes Nicole sing, you may wonder if you are hearing a newly discovered track from a legendary singer of yore-Sarah Vaugh, perhaps? Or Dinah Washington? But soon it becomes clear that her music and vision are fresh, creative, and all her own.


From 3:30 - 5pm John Primer Band

 

Three-time Grammy nominated artist and American blues legend John Primer was the bandleader and guitarist for Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, and Magic Slim & The Teardrops. Having played or recorded with a who’s who of blues greats including The Rolling Stones and Buddy Guy, John Primer’s personal accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, reflect his countless contributions to the history of Chicago blues.

 

From 5:30 - 7pm Too Slim and the Taildraggers

 

Tim “Too Slim “Langford is a monster guitarist and unabashed blues rocker whose influences run the gamut from Lightnin’ Hopkins,Freddy King, Duane Allman, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Robin Trower.  He is a prolific singer/songwriter whose songs have now yielded an impressive 14 studio albums, 2 solo albums and several live CD’s on the Vizztone and his own Underworld Records labels.
