Being a parent of a child with special needs is just as rewarding, but sometimes more overwhelming than everyday parenting. Moms Moment is a support group created by Encompass for parents and caregivers of children with special needs. Participants gather on the 1st Monday of the month to share information regarding resources and, most important, camaraderie with others in a similar situation.
Meeting topics include:
Feeding and Nutrition
How do I get my child to try new foods? What is a healthy diet?
Siblings of Children with Special Needs
How can I educate my other kids on what my child's disability means and how to make them feel important, too?
DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities)
What is our state's commitment to children with disabilities? How does that affect my family?
Welcome to Special Land
With special-needs kiddos, our lives sometimes differ from our friends’ lives, and it's always helpful to talk with others who experience "Special Land" as a reality.
