2021 Washington State Parks FREE Days

Each year Washington State Parks has several free days when the Discover Pass is not required to visit a state park.  It is a great time to check out all the greatness that these parks have to offer! 

Washington State Parks offers several "free days" when a Discover Pass is not required to visit a state park. 

Following are the 2021 State Parks free days:

  • Jan. 1 — First Day Hikes; New Year’s Day
  • Jan. 18 — Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • March 19 — State Parks’ 108th Birthday
  • April 3 — Springtime free day
  • June 5 — National Trails Day
  • June 12 — National Get Outdoors Day
  • June 13 — Free Fishing Day
  • Aug. 25 — National Park Service Birthday
  • Sept. 25 — National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11 — Veterans Day
  • Nov. 26 — Autumn free day

Please note, free days apply only to day use (not overnight stays or rented facilities), A Discover Pass will still be required on these days to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (unless noted).

Go and explore!  Take a hike at Wallace Falls, spend the day on the lake at Lake Sammamish, or check out some Washington State history at Fort Warden in Port Townsend.  For a full list of parks go here.  For more information about the free days go here.
