Sunday, August 1 - SNOQAULMIE: Kids Showcase

Cheer on the kids at Snoqualmie Point Park’s open-air amphitheatre!!! The first-ever Snoqualmie Valley Kids’ Showcase will feature kids dancing, singing, and entertaining all.  Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic. In addition to seeing our local talent, you’ll enjoy a sweeping view of the Upper Snoqualmie Valley and Cascades. Located in the heart of the Mountains to Sound Greenway, the Snoqualmie Point Park was honored by the Washington Recreation & Park Association as “Best Park – Class II”. There is still room for other youth to perform, whether it be juggling, karate, stand-up comedy, dance, gymnastics, or other talents.

Tuesday, August 3 - ISSAQUAH: National Night Out

National Night Out events heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anticrime efforts and send a message that local neighborhoods are organized and won’t stand for crime.  Information booths will be onsite to educate participants on everything from emergency preparedness to outdoor safety tips. In addition, Issaquah’s Police Explorers will be fingerprinting children for ID kits, and citizens can bring their sensitive documents to be destroyed by a mobile shredding service for free.

Thursday, July 29 through Thursday, August 5 - ONGOING: NORTH BEND: Little Si Links at Mt Si Golf Course

Open May 1 - October 31.  The short course is an inexpensive way to work on your game while getting the golf course experiance. It's also great for the player who is on a short schedule as a round of nine hole usually only takes an hour to play.  Little Si Links Par 3 is a 9 hole Course that is an excellent beginner, short game and family course that takes about an hour to play.
The holes range in length from 43-87 yards. This provides more accomplished golfers an opportunity to work on their short game, while beginners can have success learning the game in a relaxed, friendly environment. Play is on a first come, first serve basis with no tee times required for regular play

Every Thursday from June 17th through August 26th.  Farmers markets are famous for their variety and quality of produce and handmade products. Buying locally grown produce encourages regional farming and stimulates the local economy. You will find fresh produce picked ripe and sold that day. You can taste the difference. When you shop at Farmers Markets, you will find unusual varieties of fruits and vegetables, and you can also meet the farmers who grow your food, ask when it was picked, how it was grown, and ways to prepare it. In addition to fresh organic produce, cut flowers, grass feed beef, honey, herbs and other specialty items will be available at North Bend Farmers Market.

Classes on Thursdays and Tuesdays.  The Umibushi Self-Defense Academy continues to offer low cost AAU Karate Club classes.  No experience needed.  The instructor for these low cost classes is Hanshi Jim Curtis who is ranked as a 10th Degree Grandmaster in both Shudokai Karate Jutsu and Umibushi Goshin Jutsu.  Hanshi Curtis has over 50 years of experience in the martial arts and is also the Executive Director of the North American Self-Defense Association.

This all-new permanent exhibit at the Gilman Town Hall tells the story of Issaquah's past through hundreds of photographs and artifacts (many never before on display) and a variety of interactive elements. Come see one of Issaquah's original water pipes, a rare Native American fur trade knife, and graffiti hidden for 75 years inside the walls of the fish hatchery. Set off an imaginary charge with an authentic dynamite blaster, ring a logging camp bell, listen to the music of the Squak Valley Hot Shots -- and much more!

Follow the railroad tracks to historic downtown Issaquah and visit the Issaquah Depot, currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Railroad memorabilia is on display, along with a vintage caboose and other railroad cars. Want to meet other families, parents and children? Like a date night or free time for yourself? Every Saturday, take turns with other local parents to provide four hours of quality childcare, including family-style meals.  Weekly activities range from games and crafts to spaghetti feeds and sleepovers.  For each session you attend as a volunteer, you earn two drop-offs for your children. Couples earn four drop-offs per session. It’s a great way to build relationships with other local parents.

Saturday, July 31 through Sunday, August 1 - FALL CITY: The Wizard of Oz at Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater and Family Park

July 24 - August 29.  Although The Wizard of Oz is one of their most popular shows, having been produced numerous times in their 45 year theatrical history, a lot of surprises and fresh ideas are in store for this year’s theater‐goers. In other words, you may have seen The Wizard of Oz before, but you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!   All performances are open seating.  One 15 minute intermission per show.  Show lasts approximately two and a half hours with intermission. BBQ is available after matinees and before evening performances.

Coverage will include panoramic views of the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley.  More than 70 players will participate this year including last year’s champion Loren Roberts.
