Got bras that just don’t fit? Here’s an opportunity to put them to good use.

Soma Intimates of Grand Ridge Plaza is collecting new and worn bras for women at the Eastside LifeWire shelter. It’s part of Soma’s nationwide Giving is Beautiful campaign to help women affected by domestic violence.

At women’s shelters, bras are the most-needed yet least donated clothing item. Now through August 5, you can drop off bras of any size, color, brand or style at the Grand Ridge Plaza boutique. Nursing bras, junior bras and sports bras are also greatly appreciated.

Since opening the boutique in 2014, Soma Issaquah has collected close to 400 bras for LifeWire. Based in Bellevue, LifeWire is one of Washington State’s largest domestic violence service providers.
“We’re thankful to everyone who takes time to come in and donate bras here at Grand Ridge Plaza,” said Jordan Reed, store manager, Soma Intimates Issaquah. “Some women drop off as many as eight or nine bras, while others donate a single bra. Every bra makes a difference.”

Worried that a bra is no longer wearable? Bring it to Soma and it will be recycled. Soma is partnering with The Bra Recyclers, a textile company specializing in the recycling and reuse of new and worn bras. Damaged or unwearable bras collected at Soma are sent to The Bra Recyclers for conversion into reusable materials.
