Holiday Light Displays You Don't Want to Miss

Issaquah, Sammamish, Fall City, Snoqualmie, North Bend, Bellevue

This list, your car keys, some holiday music, and a little enthusiasm makes for a fun family outing!

DISCLAIMER: Diana and I have done our best to confirm these locations. Be sure to check back here and on our Facebook page for updates.  Most displays will be operational by the first week of December.  Please leave comments to help this list grow and be accurate! 

ISSAQUAH
  • 9325 240th Avenue Southeast aka The Ginnaty House - featured in the Issaquah Press; 400,000 lights and a Santa to greet the kids and give out little treats.
  • 230 S.E. Bush Street - Christmas Story house, 7,000 energy-saving LED lights, 20-foot lighted tree
  • 24609 SE 45th Way - This house has their own radio station playing Christmas music sync'ed to their light display. It's AMAZING!
FALL CITY
  • 35524 SE 42nd Street - lights are synchronized to 4 different Christmas songs and one very special song, the Lords Prayer sung by Andrea Bocelli accompanied by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  The show starts every half hour, runs a little over 17 minutes, and can be heard on 87.7 FM.  Stop by between 6:00 pm and approximately 10:00 pm from December 1st through December 31st.  This one is on a nicely decorated cul-de-sac and sits up on a hill.
NORTH BEND
  • 1730 Tannerwood Way SE (just off 140th near Twin Falls Middle School) There's a "singing Reindeer and Dancing House lights set to multiple songs, including the fan favorite ‘Dominic the Donkey’ and just added, Frozen’s ‘Let it Go.’"  Sunday - Thursday the lights dance until 8:30 pm and then solid until 10:00 pm. Friday and Saturday the lights dance until 10:00 pm.  On Friday, December 11 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, the family will serve treats and collect donations for the Mount Si Food Bank.  You can watch a video here.
SAMMAMISH
  • 273rd Place SE of Glencoe at Trossachs - Families are hosting their 3rd Annual Holiday Street of Magical Lights on Sunday, December 11th from 6:00-8:00pm and you're invited to take a stroll down our Holiday Street. Enjoy a hot cocoa, cookies and crafts. Don't forget your camera to take a photo with Santa.  Bring donations of non-perishable foods and toys for our local fire fighters.
  • NE 42nd Street - a very festive cul-de-sac!  With tons of lights and huge wooden cut-outs ... there's even a different theme at every house.
  • 20541 Northeast 37th Way - lots of different lighted animal characters
  • 2509 227th Place Northeast - so many lights! There's even a pond of blue lights with little swans swimming!
  • 3718 204th Court Northeast - the tree trunks are striped white and red - really cool display!
  • Windsor Drive Southeast - lots of lights in the neighborhood; worth a drive-thru
SNOQUALMIE

You won't want to miss the 4th Annual 
Snoqualmie Holiday Lights Contest. Local families enter and are judged for the chance to win prizes! Application deadline is December 13, 2016.  Be sure to drive by and see their festive displays.

There's a can't-miss house on McInstosh/Swenson Drive in Deer Park. The display includes snow flurries, and they happen at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 PM nightly (weather dependent). Music, dancing lights and snow!

Dutilly Christmas Extravaganza 2016 is located at 34215 SE Moses St. Snoqualmie and featured at the top of this article.  It features over 5,000 lights set to music!  The 28-minute show runs 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm on weekdays, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday/Saturday, and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday. Show starts on the hour and half hour. You can see a video here

WORTH THE DRIVE
Garden d’Lights at Bellevue Botanical Garden features over ½ million lights of a dazzling winter wonderland. The route has changed, grown, and become more magical than ever.  Tickets are $5 per person; children 10 and under are free and do not need a ticket.  November 28th – January 2nd; FREE nights are Nov 30 and Dec 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10.
 
ZOOLIGHT at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma is your chance to experience "a magical world of dazzling 3-D animal light displays, including a majestic polar bear family, a Giant Pacific octopus, and a 20-foot tall tiger head." Prices range from $5-$10, with discounts available at Fred Meyer.  Children 2 and younger are free and parking is free.  Nov 27th – Jan 3rd (closed Dec 24, 25 and Jan 1)

WildLights at Woodland Park Zoo
 is Seattle's wildest winter holiday lights festival featuring wild animals and wild places recreated in hundreds of thousands of sparkling LED lights. New this year are photos with Santa! Tickets range from $6.95 - $9.95 with children 2 and under free.  Parking in zoo lots is free on WildLights event nights. November 27th – January 3th (closed Dec 24th and 25th)

Warm Beach - Lights of Christmas is located in Stanwood and boasts over one million lights, five entertainment stages, children's activities, gift shops, food and more, The Lights of Christmas is a holiday dream come true. Tickets range from $11-$16 per person, with children 0-3 free; December 3, 10, 28 and 29 are “pay what you can nights”. December 3-6, 10-13, 17-23, 26-29

Christmas Ship Festival is your chance to take a ride on a Christmas Ship or a parade ship and enjoy caroling, visits with Santa and a kid’s area and more.  Tickets are free for children 3 and under and range from $13.50 to $39.00.  Or start a new tradition with your neighbors and plan to sip hot cocoa around a bonfire at a waterfront park to enjoy the floating holiday parade.

The Menashe Christmas Spectacular located at 5605 Beach Dr. SW in West Seattle is a top notch display that attracts thousands of people from all over the area.  You can see stunning photographs of the display on Facebook.
 

The "Christmas House" at S.E. 269th Street and 220th Avenue S.E. in Maple Valley is, well, amazing ... just look at this photo!

The awesome Seahawks display of lights is NOT HAPPENING IN 2016 due to neighbor complaints, but CLICK HERE to watch a video of the past display and we've heard the homeowners are looking for a public place to display their lights! We will keep you updated!
