How could we call this a special BABY edition of our newsletter without including Caspar BABYpants?!
I love music and typically listen to a variety of songs all day long. After having my firstborn, I went on a mission to find baby-friendly tunes that I could actually enjoy. I didn't need to be driven crazy with annoying kids songs. And I didn't need to feel guilty about exposing my young one to music with questionable lyrics.
Thankfully, I found Caspar Babypants! I've been a fan (borderline groupie) since the beginning, which was two years and four albums ago! Each album is loaded with original songs and sprinkled with a few traditional ones, newly arranged. Caspar Babypants has a fun rockin' style that can melt away the grumpies (my daughters' and my own) and get us dancing and giggling in no time!
I think what I like best is the sing-a-long-ability of the songs. The "hooks" are super catchy. The lyrics are creative but not weird. Perhaps that has something to do with the name of his latest album ... SING ALONG! And, I do! Believe me! With reckless abandon and great appreciation. Oh, yes, I SING ALONG! just about everyday!
I love everything about this album ... from the cover art (created by Caspar's wife Kate Endle) to the all-star cast of collaborations! Weird Al Yankovic plays the accordion on one of my favorite tracks - Long Long Dream. Frances England, second only to Caspar in my repertoire of fav children's music, sings on three tracks, too. There's even bongo-playing by a guy from Pearl Jam! This album is something special. The kind of kid’s music that parents really and truly enjoy - as much if not more than their kids!
