Katie teaches dance at IGNITE Dance & Yoga in North Bend, and here is her nomination:
My family has been a part of IGNITE Dance & Yoga since Katie Black opened the doors in September 2010. Katie cares about each child that walks through the doors of IGNITE and whether they are in recreational classes or on the competition team, everyone is made to feel important. Her passion for dance and teaching are evident with the time she takes with each group and each child. She has instilled the love of dance in our child and I know many others throughout the years.
We feel Katie deserves this award because she is a teacher in every sense of the word. From jazz and hip hop to ballet and lyrical, Katie makes sure every child understands and cares as much about dance as she does. And they do!
Katie, our community is lucky to have you teaching dance! You are a wonderful, caring person, and the families at IGNITE are lucky to have your dance wisdom and shining personality as an example to our children. We are so happy your vision has come to light!
