Family-friendly Local Happenings from Macaroni Kid

Issaquah, Sammamish, Snoqualmie, North Bend and Fall City

June 6, 2013

Summer is rapidly approaching and there will be many more hours to entertain, stimulate, and exhaust your kids.  Brace yourself because chances are you will hear, "I'm bored," a few times.

To combat boredom, we are bringing you an idea originally seen on Fun Finds for Mom by way of mer mag and all over Pinterest.  It's a "new" take on the Summer Bucketlist: three jars labeled Let's Go, Let's Make, and Let's Eat.  Inside those jars you place slips of paper with ideas for each type of activity.  And then, here's the really fun part, your kids choose an activity from each jar and you do those activities during the week.

It's simple and easy and well, we are loving this idea!  So much so, in fact, that Macaroni Kid is going to bring you weekly LOCAL options for going somewhere (think of this like an adventure), making something (we may get a tiny bit crafty here), and eating something (we've got recipes and restaurant recommendations ready for you!)

LET'S GO: FIND A NEW PARK  in Snoqualmie, North Bend, Issaquah, or Sammamish

LET'S MAKE: SIDEWALK CHALK

LET'S EAT: DOUGHNUTS!  June 7 is National Doughnut Day, but you can celebrate all week if you want - we won't tell! Besides now it's on your "let's eat" list, so you've got the perfect excuse to check out one (or two) of the yummiest local doughnut shops: Steve's Doughnuts, Top Pot Doughnuts, and Krispy Kreme.

Before you go, make, and eat ... VOTE in our Daddy & Me Photo Contest and then enjoy this week's new content from your local Macaroni Kid:

Peace.  Love.  Macaroni!
